The first two comparative tastings will be a rare opportunity to visit these stellar wine making regions. I will go “out on a limb” and state that there is “nobody, nowhere” in this State (Louisiana not delusion) that would conduct wine tastings with these high quality wine producers, the low cost of participation, as well as the uniqueness of presentation.
These are eight major league wines from the Burgundy and Napa/California appellations compared “blind” against each other in 2 flights with a ninth wine, also blind, to identify with either group.
There is no better chance to learn if you prefer high quality French white Burgundy over Napa Valley Chardonnay while also learning that you like Russian River and Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noirs over French Red Burgundy.
Whether you are new to the appreciation of wine or a seasoned oenophile there sessions will be fun. Our guest host, Chris Hunter, general manager of Purveyor of Fine Wines, will lead us on these tastings, the evaluation, and the discussion.
Our third tasting on September 29, 2010, our guest host Nick Dischler with Wines Unlimited will pull the covers back on the world of Spanish wines. The wines will be one sparkling, two white, and six red. This session will not be blind.
Please click here to see the wines of the first three tastings. We will send out the details of the remaining wine tastings later this month. Call for tasting reservations at 985-542-0043 or 985-634-0289.
Thank you,
Paul Murphy
P.S. The next date for a Jacmel Inn wine dinner will be Thursday, November 4, 2010. The winemaker or owner of a Napa Valley Winery will be our guest host.
